Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs) 2014-2015
According to New Jersey’s approved application to waive provisions set forth by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), instead of identical student achievement percentages set for all subgroups in all schools, New Jersey now sets Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs) in annual equal increments. This will move schools toward a goal of reducing, by half, the percentage of students in the "all students" group and in each subgroup who are not proficient within six years. New Jersey must use current proficiency rates based on assessments administered in the 2010–2011 school year as the starting point for setting its AMOs.AMOs will be recalculated by the state after the first administration of the PARCC assessment in March and May of 2015.
