Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Tamar Goetke

I have been learning, making, and enjoying music as far back as I can remember, and one of the great joys of my life is sharing music with the people around me. In addition to teaching music classes, violin, and chorus to the students at Freehold Learning Center, I ring handbells, sing in the choir, and direct ensembles at my church. I studied music education with a concentration in piano and choral and elementary music education at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. Since then I have had the great fun of teaching every age from mommy-and-me classes; to nursery school; elementary, middle, and high schoolers; and even adults. I truly believe that the joy of music is for everyone, and getting to share it with the students of Freehold during their first years of school is the best job in the world.

In addition to making music, I enjoy spending hours in a good book, being outdoors with my kids, baking desserts, and playing Scrabble. I live in Freehold Boro with my two boys, who are in 8th and 6th grades at FIS this year; two cats; and a hedgehog.
