    Please read below for all information regarding instruments, lessons, etc. Scroll to bottom for website translation. 
     
    Qualify for a school instrument? 
     
     If you checked off that you qualify for a school instrument on the instrumental lesson paperwork, you will need to be patient and wait for further notice. If you are no longer interested in using a school owned instrument and are interested in purchasing or renting an instrument for your child to use please contact me.  Before purchasing or renting an instrument please contact me and let me know which instrument your child is interested in playing and I will need to consult with the principal and classroom teachers to see if your child will be able to miss class for their weekly lesson. The instrumental music lesson schedule is already created and unable to change. 
     
     
    Instrument Care Supplies: 
     
     
    **If you own or rent your instrument you will need to purchase your own care items.  If you have a district owned instrument, Mrs. Michel will provide you with your care items and repairs. When supplies run out, no more supplies will be given. If you loose the supplies you are given, you will not be provided with more. You will then need to purchase the supply you lost. 
     
    Trumpets:
    You will need to purchase your own valve oil to use this year.
     
    String Instruments:
    You will need to purchase your own rosin and strings that break to use this year. If your string breaks, please purchase the correct size and note string for your instrument. Mrs. Michel will restring your broken string when time allows. 
     
    Clarinets and Saxophones: 
    You will need to purchase your own reeds and cork grease to use this year.  If you are a beginner you will need size 2 reeds.  If you are a 2nd or 3rd year player you will need size 2 1/2 reeds. Rico brand reeds will be the most cost effective reeds you can purchase. Rico Royal reeds are a step up in quality and Vandoren reeds are the best quality type of reeds. 
     
    ***Instrument care items can be purchased at any music store.  Music & Arts in Manalapan or Freehold Music Center.  
     
    Renting an instrument:
     
    Music & Arts will deliver your rented instruments and repairs to the school. The school does not accept any paperwork or handle any issues with Freehold Music Center.  If you rented an instrument from Music & Arts, the instrument will be delivered to the school as soon as your paperwork and payment is processed.  If you have a question regarding your payment or instrument paperwork please call or visit the Music & Arts store. The Music & Arts information is listed below, please scroll down.  Mrs. Michel or the district does not handle any of the paperwork or payments. 
     
    Repairs: 
     
    If your rented instrument (from Music & Arts) breaks:
    Please contact Mrs. Michel (see contact information below) and she will be able to have the instrument picked up and sent out for repair. Please contact the Music & Arts store for more details regarding payment. You can also take the instrument to the store yourself and they can help you. 
     
    If your rented instrument (from Freehold Music Center or another business) breaks:
    Mrs. Michel or the district can not help you.  You will need to call and visit the store and check with their policy.  
     
    If your owned instrument breaks: 
    Please contact a quality instrument repair man.  Do not try to fix the instrument yourself. Mrs. Michel is unable to make any large repairs or give any repair supplies to non-district owned instruments. Please contact Mrs. Michel to see if she is able to complete your minor repair.  
     
     
    Purchasing an Instrument:
    If your child is beginning an instrument, it is not recommended that you purchase an instrument for your child to use. It is better to rent a quality instrument to see if your child will continue learning or if that instrument is the best fit for your child. I do not recommend purchasing any instrument online especially from Ebay.  Please go to a quality music store to purchase your instrument: such as Music & Arts in Manalapan. If you wish to purchase an instrument because your child wants to continue learning that instrument please let Mrs. Michel know and she can help you through this process. There are many different name brands that are quality for some instruments but not all.  If you are purchasing a string instrument please make sure your child is sized properly for the correct size. I do not recommend that you purchase a string instrument if your child is a beginner. Your child will grow as time goes on and you will need to purchase another string instrument to fit your child properly. I am stressing the importance of purchasing a quality instrument also with string instruments.  Non-quality string instruments are extremely hard to repair, find parts and tune. Please consult with Mrs. Michel or a quality music store consultant (Music & Arts) before purchasing. Mrs. Michel would be happy to meet with you or speak with you on the phone to assist you with this process.  Music & Arts store has promotions for purchasing instruments several times a year. Mrs. Michel does have information and paperwork regarding these promotions.

    ¿Califica para un instrumento de la escuela?

Michel y hágale saber que instrumento su niño desea aprender y ella tendrá que consultar con la directora y los maestros para ver si su niño será capaz de saltar una clase para su lección musical semanalmente.     Suministros para el cuidado de instrumentos

    **Si usted tiene o alquila un instrumento necesitará comprar sus propios artículos de cuidado. Si su instrumento es propiedad del distrito, la Sra.     Instrumentos de Cuerda

    Usted necesitará comprar su propia resina y cuerdas que rompan este año. Si la cuerda se rompe, por favor compre el tamaño y la nota correcta para su instrumento. La Sra. Michel ajustara la cuerda rota cuando el tiempo lo permita.

    Clarinetes y saxofones

    Usted tendrá que comprar su propia caña y grasa de corcho para su uso este año. Si usted es un principiante necesitará tamaño 2 cañas. Si este es su 2o o 3er año necesitara caña de tamaño 2 1/2. Rico es la marca más eficaz que puede comprar. Cañas Rico Royal son un paso arriba en calidad y Cañas Vandoren son de alta calidad.

    *** Los artículos de cuidado de instrumentos se pueden comprar en cualquier tienda de música.  Tiendas locales:  Music & Arts de Manalapan o Freehold Music Center.

    Alquiler de Instrumentos

    Music & Arts (Manalapan) entregará sus instrumentos alquilados y reparaciones a la escuela. La escuela no acepta ningún papeleo o controla cualquier problema con Freehold Music Center.

    Si usted alquila un instrumento musical de la tienda de Manalapan, el instrumento será entregado a la escuela tan pronto su papeleo y pago sea procesados. Si tiene alguna pregunta acerca de su pago o papeleo, por favor llame o visite la tienda Music & Arts (Manalapan). La información de la tienda Music & Arts se encuentra a continuación, por favor desplácese hacia abajo. La Sra. Michel o el distrito no manejan los trámites o pagos.

    Reparaciones

    1. Si su instrumento alquilado (de Music & Arts, Manalapan) se rompe:

    2. Si su instrumento alquilado (de Freehold Music Center) se rompe:

    3. Si se rompe el instrumento de propiedad:

    Póngase en contacto con un técnico de calidad para reparar instrumentos. No intente a reparar el instrumento usted mismo. La Sra. Michel no es capaz de hacer reparaciones grande ni dar suministros de reparo. Póngase en contacto con la Sra. Michel para ver si ella puede hacer su pequeño reparo.

    4. Compra de instrument

    Si su hijo comienza un instrumento, no se recomienda que compre un instrumento para su hijo. Es mejor alquilar un instrumento de calidad para ver si su hijo seguirá aprendiendo o si ese instrumento es adecuado para su hijo. No lo recomiendo comprar un instrumento en línea, sobre todo de Ebay.com. Por favor vaya a una tienda de música de calidad para comprar su instrument tal como Music & Arts en Manalapan.

    Si desea comprar un instrumento porque su hijo quiere seguir aprendiendo ese  instrumento por favor avise a la Sra. Michel y ella lo podrá ayudar en el proceso. Hay muchas marcas diferentes que son de la calidad pero no todas. Si usted compra un instrumento de cuerda, por favor asegúrese de que midan a su hijo  para comprar el tamaño correcto.  No lo recomiendo que compre un instrumento de cuerda si su hijo es un principiante. Su hijo crecerá con el tiempo y tendrá que comprar otro instrumento que le sirva.

    Es importante comprar un instrumento de calidad, incluso instrumentos de cuerda. Los instrumentos de cuerda de baja calidad son muy difíciles de reparar, encontrar partes y afinar. Por favor consulte con la Sra. Michel o un asesor en tiendas de calidad de música (Música y Artes) antes de comprar. La Sra.
