Letter from the Principal

  • Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Our staff is dedicated to enriching every student in their academic and social growth, we teach the “Whole Child.” This year we have built into the schedule additional time to enhance the education of our students by direct instruction and provide an opportunity for teachers to meet and analyze data that will inform high quality instruction.  When needed, students will receive additional practice in a specific area that focus on language arts and mathematic skills

During this time of virtual instruction, our staff is committed to providing the best educational experience possible. Please help us help your child by providing a quiet place for your child to receive their instruction. Contact the FIS office with any questions and concerns.  The tech staff is available to assist with internet and computer issues. Check  the website often for up-to -date information.

We are fortunate to have an active PTO who supports our students in a variety of ways.  It is through their efforts that our students receive agendas and off-campus Field Days.  I encourage all the parents to become active members of the FIS PTO.  Parents should also plan to register with Genesis, our student data system, attend Back to School Night and Parent/Teacher conferences.  Information will also be posted on the FIS website.  You can find all staff email addresses on the website as well

Reminder - Please go to my BLAST page for current dates.

I look forward to meeting all of you, virtually and in person,  and I wish you a wonderful year filled with academic and personal successes. Feel free to email me, call, drop a note or set up a time to meet if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions.

                                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                                Ronnie Dougherty
